5 tips and tricks to watch your favorite videos on YouTube

With a global community of over two billion people on YouTube, we're always looking for ways to make it easier to watch and interact with your favorite videos. Check out some of our favorite tips and tricks to get the most out of YouTube, which you can try starting today.

1. What are you looking for through video chapters?

Try video chapters, which help you navigate videos better by allowing you to move on to a specific part of a video, re-watch a part of a video, and more. Today, we're expanding this feature to add a new list view that you can find in the player by tapping or clicking on the chapter title. You will be able to see a complete list of all the chapters in the video you are watching, with a preview thumbnail of each, what you will find in this chapter. Save time by jumping fast to the area of your interest!

2. A more organized player page

To make headlines more accessible, we've moved the button to a more prominent location via the video player on the phone. We've also moved the AutoPlay toggle to make it easier to turn it on or off while you're watching. (We'll be testing it on the desktop soon.) You'll also see small improvements to the player, such as rearrange buttons that make it easier to shape and steps that are much faster. Accelerate

3. Use gestures to make YouTube more efficient and work for you

People like to be able to double-tap on the left or right side of a video to move fast or reverse in 10 seconds. Today we're making it easy to get in and out of full-screen mode - swipe down to get in and out of the full screen. And if you want to see how much time is counted in the time elapsed in a video, you can now easily tap the timestamp to switch back and forth.

4. Newly proposed measures enhance the experience

We're starting to take suggested actions, which may prompt you to turn your phone or play video in VR when we think you might have a better experience. We also plan to introduce more proposed initiatives in the future!

5. Go to bed with reminders at bedtime

We recently introduced Bedtime Reminders, a new digital wellness tool that lets you stop watching videos and set reminders at specific sleep-specific times, allowing you to share your time on YouTube. Managing is one of our specialties.
